Playing Beebo on a TV
Today there are two ways to watch on a TV: run the Beebo Android app on an Android TV or Google TV, or cast from your phone to a Chromecast or Google TV. Native apps for Roku, Samsung and LG TVs are in development, and Apple TV apps are planned, with no dates for any of them.
Available now Status: Android TV and Google TV work today through the Android app, and casting works from the Android app. Roku, Samsung and LG apps are in development and Apple apps are planned: nothing to download yet. See Beebo on your devices for the live status of every device.

Install Beebo on Android TV or Google TV

Get the Android app file
On a phone or computer, open the Get Beebo section and download the Android app. It is the same app as the phone version, built for both 32-bit and 64-bit ARM, which many TV devices need.

Put it on your TV
There is no TV-specific installer. Copy the file to the TV, for example on a USB drive, and open it with a file manager app installed on the TV. Android will ask you to allow installs from that app. The menus vary between TVs.
What you’ll see: Beebo appears among your TV’s apps with its own launcher icon.

Sign in with your remote
On the first screen, type your Beebo address, then your username and password. Use the local address from the PC’s Get Started screen (a few numbers like
192.168.1.50:47811) when the TV is on the same Wi-Fi as the PC, or youryourname.beebo.tvaddress.What you’ll see: Your library, with a menu rail down the left side. Use the remote’s directional pad to move around and seek.

Casting from your phone
Start playing on your phone
Open Beebo, pick a movie or show and press play as usual.
Tap the Cast button
It is the screen-with-waves icon in the player’s top bar. It appears when a Chromecast or Google TV is found on your Wi-Fi.
Pick your TV
Choose it from the list. The film moves to the TV and your phone becomes the remote.
Casting needs your phone and the TV on the same Wi-Fi, so it works at home, or wherever you and the TV share a network. The downloadable Android app casts to Google devices only; for AirPlay, watch in Safari.
Not yet available
In development Roku, Samsung and LG TVs. There is no beta and no date. Each app has to pass its store’s review. Roku and Samsung and LG each have a page where you can ask to be told when they are ready.
Planned Apple TV, iPhone and iPad apps. See the Apple page. Until then, Safari and AirPlay work.

If something goes wrong
Signing in with the TV remote is slow
It is: every character is typed by hand. A sign-in with a code shown on the TV is not in the released app yet.
Some phone features are missing on the TV
Campsite Mode, Star Chart, Nearby, Scavenger Hunt, Space Saver and offline Downloads are hidden on a TV, and buying or subscribing is not available there.
The Cast button is missing
Check that the phone and the Chromecast are on the same Wi-Fi (guest networks and 2.4 GHz versus 5 GHz splits can hide them from each other), that the TV is on, and that you are on the player screen. Reopen the movie and look at the top bar again.
My TV is not listed
There is no published list of tested TV models. If Beebo does not work on your TV, tell us which one at testers@beeboentertainment.com.
