Beebo on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV (planned)
Native Beebo apps for Apple TV, iPhone and iPad are planned, and they need Apple’s approval before they can be released. Until then, iPhone and iPad watch in Safari, and AirPlay from Safari reaches an Apple TV.
Status: planned, with no dates. There is no Beebo app in the App Store today. On iPhone and iPad, Beebo works in Safari, and you can send video to an Apple TV with AirPlay.
What is planned
Native Beebo apps for Apple TV, iPhone and iPad, and a Mac version. Nothing has been released, and we are not giving dates. Apple has to approve any app before it can appear in the App Store, and we cannot predict how long that takes or what Apple will ask us to change.
What works on Apple devices today
iPhone and iPad: watch in Safari
Open your Beebo address (like yourname.beebo.tv) in Safari and sign in. In Safari you can tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, to put a Beebo icon on your Home Screen. See Get Beebo on your phone for the steps.
Apple TV: AirPlay from Safari
When you watch in Safari on an iPhone, iPad or Mac, the AirPlay button appears in the player as soon as an Apple TV is on your Wi-Fi. See Cast to your TV.
Mac: any web browser
Open your Beebo address in a web browser and sign in. The Beebo server itself runs on Windows, with a Linux beta coming.
The Android app is Android only
The downloadable Beebo app is for Android phones, tablets and TVs. It does not run on iPhone, iPad or Apple TV, so on Apple devices the browser is how you watch for now.
Honest limits
- Offline downloads need the Android app. They are not available in Safari.
- The Android app’s casting reaches Google devices only. For AirPlay, watch in Safari instead.
- There is no Apple TV app. Apple TV does not run Beebo itself; AirPlay from another Apple device is the way to use it for now.
- The details above describe what we plan, and may change.
