Beebo on Android TV and Google TV
The Beebo Android app runs on Android TV and Google TV, with navigation built for a TV remote. You install it yourself for now, and this page shows how to install it and sign in.
Status: works today through the Android app. You install it yourself, because Beebo is not yet listed for TVs on Google Play. If you would rather not install anything on the TV, casting from your phone works with a Chromecast or Google TV.
Requirements
- An Android TV or Google TV device: a TV with either built in, a Chromecast with Google TV, or an Android TV box.
- A running Beebo server on your Windows 10 or 11 PC, with your account already created.
- The Beebo Android app file (an
.apk) from the download section. It is the same app as the phone version. It is built for both 32-bit and 64-bit ARM, because many TV devices, including Chromecast with Google TV, use a 32-bit system.

Get the app file
On a phone or computer, open the Get Beebo section and download the Android app.

Put it on your TV
Beebo does not have a TV-specific installer. Copy the
.apkto the TV, for example on a USB drive, and open it with a file manager app installed on the TV. Android will ask you to allow installs from that app. The exact menus vary by TV. -
Open Beebo
Beebo has a TV launcher icon, so it appears among your TV’s apps.

Sign in with your remote
On the first screen, type your Beebo address, then your username and password. Use the local address shown on the PC’s Get Started screen (a few numbers like
192.168.1.50:47811) when the TV is on the same Wi-Fi as the PC, or youryourname.beebo.tvaddress.
What you get on the TV
- Your library, with navigation designed for a TV remote: a menu rail down the left side and the remote’s directional pad for moving around and seeking.
- Voice search. Once you are signed in, press the microphone button on the remote and say a title, and matching films and shows from your Beebo library appear in the TV’s search results.
- A Continue watching row on the TV’s home screen. It is kept on the TV itself.
Honest limits
- Not listed for TVs on Google Play yet. That is why you install the file yourself.
- Signing in means typing with the remote. A sign-in with a code shown on the TV is not built yet.
- Some phone features are hidden on a TV: Campsite Mode, Star Chart, Nearby, Scavenger Hunt, Space Saver and offline Downloads. Buying or subscribing is not available on a TV.
- There is no published list of tested TV models. If something does not work on your TV, tell us which TV you have.
- Amazon Fire TV devices are not covered on this page.
