Family and profiles: logins, limits and private history
Everyone in your household gets their own Beebo login, their own Continue Watching, and, if you choose, their own limits. You set it all up in the Users tab on the PC that runs Beebo, and the limits follow each person to every screen.
Available now Status: Users, parental controls, bedtime and the owner PIN work today. Beebo is not a children’s app and has no child-themed screens. Parental controls are a tool for the adult who runs the Beebo PC.
Step by step

Add a person
On the Beebo PC, click Users. Under Add a user directly, type the person’s name (an email is optional) and click Generate code. If someone asked for access, their request is under Pending requests: choose Approve or Deny.
Send them their username and login code. They sign in with these on their phone, in a browser, or on a TV.
What you’ll see: A green box with the person’s username and login code, and a new row for them in the All users list.

Set what they may watch
In that person’s row, open Parental controls. Pick a starting point: Young children (under 7), Ages 7 to 12, Teens (13 to 17) or Off. Then open Fine-tune to change the rating scale (United States: G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17, or Canada: G, PG, 14A, 18A, R), the highest film and TV rating, whether to hide titles with no rating, and which genres to hide. You can also block single titles or collections, or switch to Only show titles I allow.
What you’ll see: A summary line such as the rating limits, minutes a day and bedtime, under “Parental controls for” that person’s name.

Add a daily limit and a bedtime
In Fine-tune, type minutes into Daily watching limit, and set No watching from and until times, for example 21:00 until 07:00. Minutes only count while the person is actually watching, and the count starts again at midnight.
What you’ll see: When time is up, the person sees a friendly line such as “It’s past bedtime on this profile. Watching opens again at 07:00.” instead of an error.

Set the owner PIN
On the Users page, find Owner PIN, type four to eight digits and click Set PIN. On a shared phone or TV, Beebo asks for it before anyone leaves a profile with limits, moves to a profile with more access, or changes a restricted profile’s limits. Five wrong tries lock it for 15 minutes on that device.
What you’ll see: The label changes from “Owner PIN (not set)” to “Owner PIN (set)”.

Optional: let an adult keep their viewing history private
Private viewing history is for adults who share a server. First the owner marks the person as an adult in the Users row. The person then signs in with their own login in a browser, opens Viewing privacy, ticks Keep my viewing history private and confirms with their own password. It is only available to approved adults with no parental restrictions.
With it on, the owner no longer sees that person’s titles, file names or playback progress. The owner can still see bandwidth, devices, connection status and total watch time, and cannot replace the person’s password; they recover it through their own email.
What you’ll see: In the owner’s Users view: “Viewing history is private. Titles, filenames and playback progress are hidden. Usage monitoring remains available.”
Where the limits apply
The limits are kept by the PC at home, not by the phone. Titles over a person’s limit disappear from lists, search, details pages, playlists, casting, downloads and the website, and they refuse to play even if someone knows exactly where to look. If you change a limit while someone is watching something they should no longer see, the stream stops within about a minute. A restricted profile also cannot open the owner tools, Settings, trailers, title requests or Space Saver.

If something goes wrong
I forgot the owner PIN
Set a new one from the Beebo app on your own PC, under Users.
A person cannot turn on viewing privacy
The owner must first mark the profile as an adult and remove parental restrictions, and the person must have set their own sign-in password. The page tells them which of these is missing.
The login code was not emailed
Beebo only emails logins if you have set up a sender email in Settings and added an email to the person’s account. Otherwise the code is shown next to their name, so you can send it yourself.
I want to pause someone without deleting them
Use Revoke on their row. It blocks their access but keeps the account and history. Reactivate brings it back.
Can someone get around the limits with the website or casting?
No. The same check runs on the PC for the website, the browser player, casting and downloads. Limits also apply away from home, because they travel with the person’s login.
