Self-hosted remote viewing is free.
If you run Beebo from your own computer and supply the connection route, Beebo does not set a remote-stream limit or charge you for extra people. You choose who has access, how many people may watch, and the bandwidth rules for your home.
What counts as self-hosted?
Direct connection, automatic UPnP, manually forwarded router ports, a relay you run yourself, or a VPN you provide yourself. In each case, your computer and your chosen network service carry the traffic.
Your practical limit is your own hardware, upload speed, data plan, router, relay/VPN capacity and the settings you choose. Beebo will not silently impose a household stream cap on that self-hosted route.
When do Beebo limits apply?
Only when you choose a paid Beebo-managed connection service. In that case Beebo operates the relay/network capacity, so the plan states its included simultaneous remote streams and quality limits before checkout. Those limits do not change the limits of a self-hosted direct, port-forwarded, owner-relay or owner-VPN route.
Choose the route that suits you
- Direct connection: Beebo tries this first.
- UPnP or port forwarding: your router opens a route to the home computer.
- Your own relay or VPN: you decide its provider, cost, location and capacity.
- Beebo-managed connection: an optional paid choice when you want Beebo to operate the connection service.
Use the owner controls to approve users and set any household limits you want. Keep your computer, router and Beebo updated, and share access only with people you trust.
